The Liberty Bell
Kiddos were a bit disappointed at the size of the Liberty Bell

Kids had fun getting their Junior Rangers....which
made them "see" everything as they filled out their books!
This is the room in Independence Hall where the
Continental Congress met to discuss and sign the
Declaration of Independence. George Washington
sat in the chair at the front of the room when the
Constitution was being discussed.

Mom had told me about this shop...really like a museum
with hundreds of old samplers! We nearly walked across Philadelphia in pursuit of a visit to it.
It was worth our trek, beautiful samplers by little girls as young as 7, lots stitched by "Marys" and
"Elizabeths" with beautiful verses and poems. The older girls and I could have spent all afternoon in the two story shop!
I am thoroughly inspired to start the girls
on a sampler as my mom did with me. The one Mom helped
me make hangs in the girls bathroom.

Woodmere Art Museum
Just happened upon this beautiful little treasure
of a museum in Chestnut Hill where we saw this original painting
by Benjamin West. We have read "Benjamin West and His Cat
Grimalkin" several times, so it was thrilling to see one of his paintings!
