Wengen: Our first day in Wengen
was beautiful! We took a gondola from the village up to the top of the mountain
that towered above it. From there we went for a hike. We walked through fields
of wildflowers with majestic mountains surrounding us on all sides.

The whole hike
we were headed towards the famous Eiger and our hike ended at the base of the
North face where 64 people have perished attempting to summit. We enjoyed an authentic Swiss meal before
boarding the train that took us back to Wengen.

Two stops before the village, Dad, Caroline
and I (Katherine) decided to get off of the train and try to find our way back
to our chalet. We had a marvelous time wondering through fields where cows
grazed and patches of forest where little streams bubbled over rocks. We even
found a patch of wild strawberries and stopped for a few minutes to enjoy their
sweet taste! Eventually we made it back to the chalet just as everyone else was
arriving!
Stay tuned for our next post from Switzerland!
